IMPA TEST DAYS 2008

    IMPA will return to the Poconos on Wednesday and Thursday, September 10-11, for Test Days 2008. If you've been with us in recent years you know we have developed a two-day program that permits members to operate a broad number of test vehicles in a variety of venues.  Although tickets are available for guests, driving is limited to IMPA members during Test Days.
    Weather in the Pocono Mountains during early September can range from the mid-70s to a freak snowstorm.  Rain – even a threatened hurricane – has never delayed us, merely made the off-road mud test more difficult.  So check the weather reports and come prepared for two full days outdoors.  (Attire for the banquet is typically something more dressy than a polo shirt.)
    Day One is centered at our host hotel, Split Rock Resort, where members will have an opportunity to put a variety of four-wheel drive vehicles through their paces along wooded maintenance roads and routes that traverse the Mountain's ski slopes. 
    While some members enjoy off-roading, others will find a variety of cars and trucks available for touring through the Pocono hills. The day concludes with our annual banquet at the Split Rock Resort Galleria.
    Thursday, Day Two, begins with breakfast at Split Rock, followed by testing at Pocono Raceway.
    Product displays and demonstrations will be set up both days.
    Registration will move with our events, from Split Rock to Pocono Raceway.
    Members will again vie for prizes, generously supplied by our sponsors and members.  
    Tickets will be available on line or by mail starting in early summer.
    We turn to the entire membership for volunteers, without whom there would be no Test Days.
    Remember, this is your event...suggestions for improvements to Test Days 2008 should be referred to any of the officers and directors.

Tuesday, September 9
Transporters may arrive at Split Rock -- pre-arrangement necessary.

Wednesday, September 10
7:00 a.m. – Pocono Raceway open to accept cars.  Pocono Raceway will be open for car delivery all night and into Friday morning. Deliveries and booth setup must be pre-arranged with IMPA organizers.  Set up begins at Split Rock
8:30 a.m. - Company representatives certify their off-road vehicles for appropriate routes
10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. - Split Rock open for registration and testing
11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Buffet lunch in IMPA tent Split Rock
4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – Setup and vehicle preparation Pocono
7:00 p.m.  – Reception at Split Rock, Galleria, second floor
8:00 p.m.  – Dinner at Split Rock, Galleria Governor's Ballroom, second floor
9:30 p.m. – Afterglow in Split Rock Keystone Ballroom
Over night - Track will be open for car preparation and booth setup.  Buffet breakfast available for crews

Thursday, September 11

6:45 – 8:30 a.m. – Breakfast Split Rock (Galleria Restaurant) for all attendees; ticket will be in registration packet.
7:00 a.m. – Pit lane opens; crews may move vehicles from garages to designated parking spots
8:30 a.m. – Gate opens for members/registration
9:00 a.m. – Track opens for driving
11:30-12:30: Track closes during corner workers' and participants lunch (lunch continues through 1 p.m.); corner workers move to the head of the lunch line. Members who bring their own vintage cars take a parade lap before membership votes for winner of the coveted Taylor-Constantine Trophy.
4:00 p.m. – Driving ends; door prizes and awards

Friday, August 1– Sponsors: Last day to sign up to take full advantage of all the signs and printed acknowledgments of your generosity and to specify exhibit needs.
Monday, August 25 – Final display sizes and vehicle numbers due
Tuesday, September 9, noon - Donated items and display material due at Split Rock
Tuesday, September 9, 10 a.m. – Tickets: To order tickets by mail, check must be in IMPA office.  (On-line sales continue.)
Wednesday, September 10, 11 a.m. – Goodies and prizes must be delivered to "Goody Bag" Team at Split Rock for inclusion in IMPA raffles and goody bags.
