Second annual Spring Brake kicks off at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Bear Mountain State Park.

The second annual IMPA Spring Brake is on for Thursday, May 21 (and will replace the May meeting). Green vehicles lead the group like last year, but the field has been opened up a bit, allowing manufacturers to bring vehicles for which they might want some extra exposure. In addition, motorcycles and scooters – very efficient means of transport – will be at Harriman State Park.

More than 55 vehicles from manufacturers including Audi, BMW, MINI, Ford, Kia, Hyundai, General Motors, Honda, Chrysler, Mazda, Nissan, Toyota, Vespa, Piaggio and smart – and this list is growing by the day – are coming to Bear Mountain for your edification.

The event is conceived as a “Test Days Light:” no formal dinner, no major commitment in terms of time or money. Bear Mountain is less than an hour’s drive North and West of Manhattan. Lunch as well as refreshments throughout the day will be available. Doors open at 8 a.m., driving to begin around 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.

Tickets – $35 for members and guests (but driving is restricted to IMPA members) will not be sold in advance, but RSVPs (a simple note to sme@kgpr.com) would be appreciated to provide the oranizers with an idea of attendees (for catering purposes).

Volunteers to help with organizing vehicles, manning the entrance/exit and the like are needed. Please let us know (again, email at sme@kgpr.com)if you would be willing to lend a hand.
