Volkswagen of America President and CEO Stefan Jacoby will be the keynote speaker Wednesday, April 8 at this year’s IMPA Breakfast at the New York International Automobile Show.

Stefan Jacoby, president and chief executive officer of Volkswagen of America, will kick off the media days for this year’s New York International Automobile Show as the keynote speaker Wednesday, April 8 at the annual IMPA Breakfast. The doors will open 7:15 that morning into the Special Events Hall at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, 34 Street and 11 Avenue, New York.

Jacoby, who is also the 2009 chairman of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, will take questions from the floor following his presentation, a part of the opening festivities for this year’s show.

In close coordination with Volkswagen’s Group Board of Management, Jacoby is charged with restructuring the company’s automotive business in the United States. His objectives are to achieve further significant expansion in the position of Volkswagen and Audi in this market through attractive and competitive products.

Following a period in the U.S. and in the Commercial Vehicles business line, he was from 1990 to 1992 head of controlling in Japan, subsequently assuming responsibility for Volkswagen export operations worldwide. Jacoby was responsible for the Asia-Pacific Region from 1997 to 2001. In addition, in 2004 he was executive vice president for global marketing and sales, Volkswagen Group.
