John Lynker, veteran newsman, dies at age 75

John Lynker was many things, but first and foremost he was a good man; loyal to friends and colleagues, proud and possessing a rare level of honesty and integrity.  The World War II veteran lost a three-year fight against the affects of congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive lung disease, passing away November 11 at the age of 75.

Best known in our community for his automotive reports on WTOP-AM, the CBS radio-network station in Washington, DC, John was also a newspaper columnist and magazine contributor.  John was a long-time member of IMPA and a founder of the Washington Automotive Press Association.
